Our Breeding Program

We do not breed frequently, perhaps once every 18 months or so. We breed litters in order to continue our long-term breeding goals, not to "produce" puppies. Each litter is bred with careful planning and specific hopes for the traits and personalities of the puppies.

Each of our dogs are bred only after they have had their hips and elbows Orthopaedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) certified, their patellas examined, and their eyes OFA specialist certified. They will also have a CHIC# from the OFA. This means that our dogs are bred at no less than 2 years of age. Beyond health testing, it is also important that the bitch be properly mature so her body is able to provide for her puppies.

For more information on what it means to have a CHIC# check out http://www.caninehealthinfo.org/chicinfo.html

Both parents will have at least one championship from either the United Kennel Club or the Canadian Kennel Club. This is part not only of demonstrating their excellence and adherence to the standard, but also as education to the public and judges.

Confirmed pregnancies of bitches will be announced once pregnancy is confirmed. Litters will be announced on our available Pyrenees page and our Facebook page when they are at least 14 days old. We do not take waiting lists for puppies, and deposits are only accepted from confirmed purchasers. Those who are interested in dogs from us are asked to contact us via telephone or email to start a dialogue. We would like to get to know potential buyers first, have them come visit our dogs, and help ensure this is the right choice.
